The DPAS occupies approximately 10,000 square feet in the Gerald L. Francis Center, a newly renovated building that opened in 2012. The DPAS's dedicated teaching space includes two classrooms, a clinical skills laboratory, five simulated exam rooms with high definition cameras for clinical skills examinations, a cardiopulmonary auscultation lab (Harvey™ Cardiopulmonary simulator), wet dissection/clinical procedure lab, and six small group-study rooms. - Serves as the "first line of defense" in addressing student/rotation/preceptor problems, informing and involving the department chair and other faculty as appropriate

- Proctors end-of-rotation exams and coordinates activities on call back days
- Creates, administers, and reviews/revises end-of-rotation examinations
- Teaches or team teaches in the didactic phase as appropriate and per expertise area
- Evaluates and grades student performance in assigned courses and submits grades to the registrar in a timely manner
Qualifications:
- Master's degree or higher in a PA program from a regionally accredited college or university and previous teaching experience in a health care capacity (clinical or classroom)
- Completion of an ARC-PA accredited program or its successors or predecessors
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as a PA in the state of Ohio and current NCCPA certification
- Minimum of five years of experience in patient care as a practicing PA
- Knowledge of theories, practices, and content required in given area of expertise
