Education Committee Seeks Members

PAEA has increased the number of core positions on the Education Committee by two and is seeking applications for three vacancies on this committee. The committee's charge is to “promote the education, professional development, and networking of PA program faculty during PAEA’s Annual Education Forum sessions and presentations.” The committee’s major functions are to review proposal submissions for meeting presentations, and to moderate, facilitate, and evaluate sessions, events, and activities during the Forum, as well as PAEA sessions held at the AAPA Annual Conference.

Applicants for this position should be familiar with current trends and issues in PA education and possess strong communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.

Members must

  • Comply with the general requirements for all committees (see below).
  • Participate in monthly conference calls and in-person meetings. The committee works throughout the year and meets at least twice a year, once at the PAEA Annual Education Forum and at least once outside the forum.

General Requirements for All PAEA Committees:

PAEA members may apply for any number of posted positions although they may accept only one appointment.

Terms

  • Terms for all member positions are for two years, beginning on January 1, 2009, and ending December 31, 2010
  • All terms are renewable once, based upon the recommendation of the chair of the committee to the board of directors
  • Members in good standing will be invited by their chairs to remain on the committee at the completion of their first terms and need not reapply

Funding

  • Meetings held in conjunction with the PAEA Annual Education Forum are not funded
  • Members are reimbursed for their travel, lodging, and meals for meetings held outside of the PAEA Annual Education Forum

General Requirements

  • Members actively contribute to carrying out the charges of the group.
  • Members agree to participate in scheduled conference calls and in-person meetings
  • Members meet agreed-upon deadlines for assignments
  • Members are expected to function well as team players
