Three Programs Join the Ranks of Accredited PA Programs

At its September meeting, the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) awarded provisional accreditation to three physician assistant programs:

• South College Master of Health Science
  Knoxville, Tennessee
  Program Director: Kenneth Harbert, PhD, CHES, PA-C

• Mercer University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences
  Atlanta, Georgia
  Program Director: Bradford W. Schwarz, MS, PA-C

• University of Oklahoma–Tulsa
  Tulsa, Oklahoma
  Interim Program Director: Steven A. Meixel, MD

The ARC-PA defines provisional accreditation on its Web site as "the status of accreditation granted for a limited, defined period of time to a new program that, at the time of the site visit, has demonstrated its preparedness to initiate a program in accordance with the Standards."

The PAEA Board of Directors extends its well wishes to these programs and looks forward to officially welcoming them as members programs.
