PAEA Seeks Parliamentarian
The Association is seeking applications for the position of parliamentarian. The parliamentarian will advise the president on parliamentary procedure at the Association’s annual business meeting and provide other input and guidance on parliamentary matters as necessary throughout the year.
The parliamentarian will be an ex officio member of the Governance Committee and attend all meetings and conference calls of the committee. The committee’s charge is to oversee the current governance structure of the Association, including membership, voting representation, policies and procedures, and bylaws and to make recommendations to improve the effectiveness of PAEA’s governance. The committee meets annually at the PAEA Annual Education Forum, as well as once each year at the PAEA national office. Conference calls are also held as needed.
Applicants must have five or more years' experience in a PA educational setting. Expert knowledge of Sturgis’s Standard Code of Parliamentary Procedure is required. Other experience with governance and policies and procedures is preferred. Previous PAEA committee service is desirable.
The parliamentarian will serve for one-year terms, renewable each year after review by the board of directors.
The position is funded for travel and accommodations at the Governance Committee meeting each September and for one night’s hotel stay at the Annual Education Forum.
