PAEA Faculty Development Institute Seeks Members

The Association invites applications for two positions on the PAEA Faculty Development Institute (FDI). The FDI is the national clearinghouse for PAEA faculty development resources.

FDI applicants should have strong communication and interpersonal skills and previous experience in faculty development activities. The institute is made up of individuals who have a wide range of experience in faculty positions. The current openings are for PA faculty members with a demonstrated interest in faculty development. One position requires applicants to have one to three years’ experience in PA education, and the second requires that applicants be “mid-career” faculty members, that is individuals with three to five years’ experience in PA education. General Requirements

• Members must contribute to carrying out the institute’s standing charges and furthering its mission, which is to promote the professional development of PA program faculty and staff through activities that enrich faculty knowledge and skills in the areas of teaching, management, leadership, education, and health policy.

• Members must agree to participate in scheduled conference calls and face-to-face meetings. Committees may meet once a year besides those meetings held in conjunction with annual meetings.

• Members must meet agreed-upon deadlines for assignments.

• Members are expected to function well as team players.

Terms

• Terms for all positions are for two years, with the possibility for reappointment.

• Terms are renewable once, based upon recommendation of the institute chair to the PAEA Board of Directors.

Funding

• Meetings held in conjunction with the PAEA Education Forum are not funded.

• Expenses for travel, lodging, and meals are covered for meetings held outside of the PAEA Education Forum.
