AAPA Provides Students with Access to PAPR

In response to student requests and a partnership with Haymarket Media, the Academy is now making it possible for student members within 12 months of graduation to receive the Physician Assistants’ Prescribing Reference (PAPR), the drug reference most widely used by clinicians and previously available only to fellow members.

PAPR will provide students with the most up-to-date information on commonly prescribed pharmaceuticals, as well as OTC products. It includes more than 2,300 concise product monographs, new product reviews, prescribing notes, as well as therapy and product classification charts. Assembled and edited by experienced pharmacists and pharmacologists, this valuable publication is designed to provide students with easily accessible information on prescribing medications as they complete their clinical rotations.

Student members may request up to two free copies of PAPR per year. The first edition available is fall 2007, followed by the spring 2008 edition. AAPA requests that faculty share this information with their students. Students may order PAPR by completing the online form on the SAAAPA Web site at http://saaapa.aapa.org/papr.htm. Questions may be addressed to Melissa Cwiertniewicz, AAPA manager for membership marketing and promotion, at mcwiertniewicz@aapa.org.
