PAEA Welcomes New Meetings Coordinator

The Association welcomed a new staff member in August — Jennifer Jarmin. Jennifer will serve as meetings coordinator. She replaces Paxton Styles, who recently moved on to a new position. With the 2006 PAEA Education Forum now approaching rapidly, many of you will no doubt be communicating with Jennifer in the next few weeks.

Jennifer was originally hired in a part-time capacity, but enjoyed her work so much that she decided to accept an offer to join the staff full-time, giving up her other part-time job as an instructional aide at an elementary school. For PAEA, she will be responsible for logistical planning and session content for the Education Forum, as well as for all board, committee, and other meetings.

She brings considerable experience with the hotel and meetings industries. A West Coaster originally, from Vancouver, Washington, she served for four years as catering director at Red Lion Hotels & Inns in Eugene, Oregon, before moving to the Washington, D.C., area, in 1992. Here she joined the staff of the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill, where she worked for six years in catering, catering sales, and convention services.

Jennifer holds a degree in business administration and marketing from Central Washington University and, in addition to her hotel and catering career, has also taught preschool and been a very active volunteer with the activities of her three children.

She can be reached at (703) 548-5538, ext. 311; jjarmin@PAEAonline.org.
