Outstanding Number of Proposals Received for PAEA Education ForumEmily WhiteHorse, PA-C, MA The PAEA Education Committee has been hard at work over the last month reviewing and selecting the workshops, roundtables, spotlight presentations, pearls, and panel presentations for the 2007 PAEA Annual Education Forum. The committee made some changes to the proposal submission process this year: Proposals could be submitted for only one format, rather than several as in the past, and two new categories were added — spotlight and expert panel presentation. The new system seems to have been successful; the committee received an unusually high number of submissions, 130 in all. This is up from 99 submissions in 2006, an increase of 30 percent. By comparison, 116 submissions were received in 2005, 99 in 2004, and 72 in 2003. Each proposal was reviewed and ranked according to the established submission criteria published with the call for proposals. A minimum of three committee members reviewed each submission, and a follow-up assessment of all proposals was performed based on their rank scores. Final decisions will be made on this basis. Given the number of excellent proposals, the selection process was very competitive this year. Decisions will be finalized this week, and notifications will be sent to presenters during the week of August 13. On behalf of the committee I'd like to thank everyone who submitted a proposal this year. We look forward to an excellent meeting in Tucson. See you there.
