Call for PACKRAT Chair and Members

The Association is seeking applications for the position of chair, as well as for members, on its test item writing committee for the Physician Assistant Clinical Knowledge Rating and Assessment Tool (PACKRAT). PACKRAT was designed and developed as a tool to assess clinical knowledge and to identify areas of strength and weakness for students. The committee chair and members will have the ongoing responsibility for submitting, constructing, reviewing questions for this exam, and attending one in-person meeting each year.

Applicants for both positions should have PA educational and clinical experience and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities of the chair include

  • Chairing the annual meeting to select and review test questions.
  • Working with vendor to troubleshoot PACKRAT and student issues.
  • Completing bi-annual reports to the PAEA Board of Directors.
  • Developing and reviewing test item questions prior to the committee’s annual meeting.
  • Developing committee work assignments.
  • Completing the final review of PACKRAT examinations prior to release of PACKRAT revisions.

  • Develop and review test item questions prior to the committee’s annual meeting.

Funding

The annual in-person committee meeting to develop the PACKRAT exam questions is funded for travel, lodging, and meals.
