PAEA Seeks Candidate for Position on NCCPA Board of Directors

PAEA is seeking candidates interested in serving as one of its two appointees to the board of directors of the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). The appointee will serve as a full member of the NCCPA board and will have responsibility for the exchange of information between both organizations.

The new appointee will succeed Bill Kohlhepp from the Quinnipiac University PA Program in Connecticut, whose second term expires in December, and will join Mark Christiansen from the University of Nebraska PA Program. The term of office for appointed directors is four years. Individuals may be reappointed by PAEA for a second four-year term, to serve no more than two consecutive terms. The appointee’s term is effective January 1, 2010, and ends on December 31, 2013. NCCPA will invite the new appointee to attend its November 2009 meeting.

PAEA invites member PA faculty who are active in and knowledgeable about the activities of the Association to apply. Interested individuals should review NCCPA’s detailed information on the position, responsibilities, qualifications, and meeting dates. The NCCPA board meets four times a year. Committee meetings are scheduled to coincide with board meetings, and most board members serve on two or three committees.

To be considered for this position, please e-mail a current CV and a letter describing your interest in and qualifications for the position to Lynn Heitzman at lheitzman@PAEAonline.org, by Friday, June 12. If you do not receive a confirmation of your application within two business days, call (703) 548-5538, ext. 308.

If you have questions about the commission's work, contact one of PAEA's current appointees or NCCPA President and CEO Janet Lathrop at janetl@nccpa.net.
