The committee is charged with reviewing the Association’s bylaws, all policies and procedures, and recommending changes to make PAEA governance more efficient and transparent to members. The committee was formed as a result of a motion passed by the membership at the 2005 Education Forum to review the use of consortium meetings to vet motions submitted for the Association’s annual business meeting. The committee will meet at the PAEA offices in Alexandria over the summer to begin addressing its charges. ARC-PA Announces Openings for Site VisitorsThe Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) is seeking applications from individuals interested in volunteering their time as ARC-PA site visitors. The ARC-PA selects site visitors from a pool of PA and physician educators, clinically practicing PAs, and others involved in PA education. They are appointed for an initial three-year term and are asked to participate in one to three program visits per year. The next new site visitor workshop will be held in conjunction with the 2006 Annual PAEA Education Forum in Quebec City, Canada, on Monday, October 30, 2006. To apply, submit a current curriculum vitae or resume to the ARC-PA, accompanied by a letter of interest detailing why you believe you should be considered for the position of site visitor. This letter should address your involvement with the PA profession and PA education and should demonstrate a clear understanding of the responsibility involved in the site visitor role. Submissions should be sent electronically to sitevisitor@arc-pa.org. The deadline for receipt of applications from those interested in participating in the Quebec workshop is Friday, July 14. FASHP Plans Cultural Competence Interprofessional InstituteThe Federation of Associations of Schools of Health Professions (FASHP), of which PAEA is a member, is sponsoring a four-day interprofessional institute designed to help faculty and administrators better incorporate cultural competence into health professions curricula. Physician assistants are among the invited disciplines. Visit the institute Web site for details. August 15 is the deadline to register.
