PAEA Seeks Liaison to National Association of Medical Minority EducatorsPAEA is seeking an individual to serve as liaison to the National Association of Medical Minority Educators (NAMME). NAMME was established by a group of educators who were concerned about the shortage of minority health care providers. The association’s objectives are:
Preference will be given to individuals who are familiar with issues important to minority health care providers. The liaison reports to the board in October. He or she also attends the NAMME Annual Fall Conference, which is funded for the liaison’s registration and exhibit costs, travel, food, and lodging. The 31st NAMME National Conference will be held September 20-24, 2006, in Las Vegas. The theme is “Creating Coalitions to Increase Diversity-Education, Community, and Political Action.” Attendance at the NAMME regional conference may also be allowed if funds are available. The term for this position is for two years, from July 1, 2006, to June 30, 2008, with the possibility of reappointment once, based on the recommendation of the PAEA president in consultation with the board of directors.
