PAEA Announces Opening for Chair of Faculty Development Institute Advisory Committee

The Association invites applications to fill the position of chair of the PAEA Faculty Development Institute (FDI) Advisory Committee. The FDI is the national clearinghouse for PAEA faculty development resources.

Applicants for the position of committee chair should have strong communication and interpersonal skills and previous experience in PAEA or with other faculty development activities. Preference will be given to a senior PA faculty member with five to seven years’ experience in PA education and demonstrated interest in faculty development.

Requirements

  • Oversee the implementation of the institute’s standing charges and further its mission to promote the professional development of PA program faculty and staff through activities that enrich their knowledge and skills in the areas of teaching, management, leadership, education, and health policy.
  • Compose the agendas for the regularly scheduled conference calls and meetings.
  • Lead all conference calls and meetings conducted on behalf of the FDI.
  • Delegate responsibilities and tasks related to the goals and objectives of the institute.
  • Function well as a team player.

Terms

  • The term for the chair position is for three years, with the possibility of reappointment.
  • Terms are renewable once, based on the approval of the PAEA Board of Directors.

Funding

  • Expenses for travel, lodging, and meals are covered for all meetings except for the PAEA Semiannual Meeting (held in conjunction with the AAPA annual conference).
