PAEA International Affairs Committee Seeks Member

The International Affairs Committee is seeking one new member. The mission of the committee is to provide expertise regarding PA education to international constituencies and serve as an information exchange for PAEA member programs on clinical education outside the United States. The committee also develops liaison relationships with global organizations involved in clinical education and provides information on student placements outside the United States. This committee is active throughout the year and meets through conference calls as needed and at PAEA's Semiannual Meeting and Annual Education Forum.

Applicants to the International Affairs Committee should have strong communication and interpersonal skills and experience with international PA education.

Term

  • The person selected to fill this opening will replace a resigning member whose term ends in October 2007 and will be eligible for reappointment, based upon the recommendation of the committee chair to the PAEA Board of Directors.

Funding

  • Meetings held in conjunction with the PAEA Annual Education Forum and Semiannual Meeting are not funded.

  • Members are reimbursed for expenses relating to travel, lodging, and meals for meetings held outside of PAEA’s annual meetings.

Requirements

Members must

  • Actively contribute to carrying out the standing charges and/or mission of the specified group.

  • Agree to participate in scheduled conference calls and in-person meetings (in addition to the telephone conference calls, committees may meet once a year besides those meetings held in conjunction with PAEA annual conferences).

  • Meet agreed-upon deadlines for assignments.

  • Function well as team players.
