Society of Teachers of Family Medicine Issues Call for Papers
The Society of Teachers of Family Medicine (STFM) has issued a call for papers for its 2010 Predoctoral Education Conference, entitled, Medical Education 2020: Developing a Vision for the Next Decade. The conference will be held in Jacksonville, Florida, January 28–31. PAs are invited to submit papers, attend the conference, and present. Submissions must be entered online at www.stfm.org/predoc no later than June 15. PAEA's liaison to the STFM, David Keahey, urges PA educators to become members of STFM and involve themselves in this vibrant and inclusive organization that shares much common ground with PAEA.
Pennsylvania Society of PAs Makes Research Grant Program Available to PAs and Students
The Pennsylvania Society of Physician Assistants (PSPA) is offering grants to PAs and PA students who are interested in researching employment issues involving PAs in Pennsylvania. According to AAPA's salary survey, Pennsylvania's salaries rank 50th in the country. The PSPA will provide up to $2,000 per fiscal year for each individual project. PA Foundation Announces Breitman-Dorn Research Fellowship
Applications for the Physician Assistant Foundation's Breitman-Dorn Endowed Research Fellowship will close on April 15. The endowment encourages a commitment to research in and on the PA profession. Financial assistance is provided to doctoral candidates who are making a contribution to research on the influence of PAs in medical care.
