PAEA Seeks Commissioner for ARC-PAPAEA invites PA educators with experience as accreditation site visitors to submit applications for nomination to a position on the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA). The new representative will succeed Gloria Stewart, whose second term expires in December, and will join Jim Van Rhee from the Wake Forest University PA Program and James Hammond from the James Madison University PA Program. The new commissioner will be selected by the ARC-PA from the slate of candidates nominated by PAEA. ARC-PA commissioners serve for an initial three-year term and are eligible for a second consecutive three-year term. More detailed information on the responsibilities entailed in this position is available here. The term is effective January 1, 2009, and concludes on December 31, 2011. The first meeting for the newly appointed commissioner will be March 6-8, 2009, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. New commissioners are expected to participate in a Web-based orientation a few weeks before the first meeting.
