PROGRAM DIRECTOR
University of Wisconsin LaCrosse
The University of Wisconsin La Crosse–Gundersen Lutheran–Mayo Physician Assistant Program is seeking a dynamic assistant/associate professor (tenure-track) or assistant/associate clinical professor (non-tenure-track), based on credentials, to lead a multi-faceted, collaborative physician assistant program faculty. This is a 9-month position in an established program that enjoys a history of small class sizes and 100% PANCE pass rates, with scores consistently in the top 10 percent nationally. The Physician Assistant Master’s Degree Program consists of four core faculty members, with instruction also delivered and supplemented by local and regional experts from the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center and The Mayo Foundation.
The PA program is part of the UW-L Department of Health Professions. All programs in the Department of Health Professions, College of Science and Allied Health (SAH) are fully accredited. The Department of Health Professions is located in a $27 million state-of-the-art health science center, which also houses six associate health professional programs. The health science center was built by the La Crosse Medical Health Science Consortium, a collaborative entity of five La Crosse organizations: UW-L, Viterbo University, Western Wisconsin Technical College, Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, and Franciscan Skemp Health Care–Mayo Health System.
The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, founded in 1909, is one of 13 four-year campuses in the University of Wisconsin system. It offers approximately 80 majors, minors, and special programs for undergraduates in business, education, the sciences, the arts, health science, recreation, physical education, and liberal studies. Twenty-one graduate programs are available. About 9,300 students attend classes on the compact, 119-acre campus.
La Crosse (pop. 52,000) is set among scenic bluffs along the winding Mississippi River on the Minnesota/Wisconsin border. Located approximately 2 ½ hours from Minneapolis to the northwest and Madison, Wisconsin, to the southeast, La Crosse enjoys small-town charm with larger city benefits. Densely-wooded coulees, three rivers, and lush marshland provide prime locales for many outdoor pursuits. In addition to UW-L, La Crosse is home to Viterbo University and Western Wisconsin Technical College.
Requirements:
- Minimum of master’s degree in related field; a doctoral degree is preferred (MD, DO, or PhD)
- Current national certification as a physician assistant, or licensed physician
- Established history of teaching
- Proven leadership skills
- Good communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Fiscal and organizational experience
- Evidence of a progressive, collaborative management style
- Willingness to participate in a multi-institutional program

CLINICAL COORDINATOR
University of Findlay
The University of Findlay Physician Assistant Program invites applications for a clinical coordinator position. The PA program seeks a strong applicant who believes in a team approach, is dedicated to providing quality PA education, and desires to grow with the program in its transition to a master’s degree.
Under the guidance of the program director and with administrative assistance, the position is responsible for all elements of the clinical year: planning, organizing, coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating the PA clinical curriculum, including site development and site visits; preceptor and student evaluation; mentorship; and service as a liaison and facilitator for the second-year students. The position is available immediately.
The University of Findlay is a growing and innovative institution with an enrollment of approximately 4,700 students. It is located 45 miles south of Toledo, Ohio. The College of Health Professions serves nearly 700 students in professional programs that include physician assistant, physical therapy, occupational therapy, nuclear medicine technology, and athletic training. Physician Assistant Program
Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) School of Allied Health Sciences welcomes applications for a full-time (12-month appointment) faculty position. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, classroom and clinical curriculum delivery. Minimum requirements include a current, unrestricted license as a physician assistant by the Texas State Board of Physician Assistant Examiners or eligibility for licensure, a minimum of 3 years' clinical experience as a PA, a master’s degree or higher in a related field, and certification by the NCCPA. Teaching experience in a PA program is desirable.

The Pennsylvania College of Optometry (PCO) (future Pennsylvania University of Health Sciences*) is establishing a distinctive physician assistant (PA) program to be based at its Elkins Park campus. The first class is expected to matriculate in fall 2007. The college is seeking an energetic, dynamic, forward-thinking program director to organize and lead this exciting new endeavor. The position is a 12-month, full-time position, and the program director will be eligible for a tenure track faculty position (rank will be based on credentials). The program director will determine the nature and design of the program and hire the faculty and staff. A qualified applicant will be a graduate of an accredited PA program (master’s degree required; MPH, additional master’s degree, or PhD preferred) with at least two years' experience as a clinically practicing PA, hold current NCCPA certification, and be eligible for licensure in Pennsylvania.
From its establishment in 1919 through today, PCO has been known for its leadership in optometric education. Over the past 20 years, that vision has led to the establishment of other health and rehabilitation programs, including four graduate degrees and several certificates in vision impairment, a master of science in clinical optometry for international ophthalmic practitioners, and a distance education and residential doctor of audiology degree. Today, the PCO community includes more than 9,000 audiology, optometry, graduate studies, and international students,and faculty and alumni from the United States and around the globe. The college is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education as well as relevant professional accreditation bodies. The mission of the college is to “educate health care professionals and educators, conduct research, and provide patient care and rehabilitation services that advance the welfare of the public worldwide.” Our state-of-the art academic, research, and student facilities are situated on a beautifully landscaped campus in Elkins Park, a suburb outside the city of Philadelphia. The college’s primary clinical facility is located in the Oak Lane section of Philadelphia.
