Savannah Selected as Site of 2008 Education Forum

The PAEA Board of Directors has approved Savannah, Georgia, as the site of the 2008 PAEA Annual Education Forum. The meeting will be held October 28-November 2, 2008, at the Hyatt Regency Savannah, in the heart of Savannah’s historic district. The hotel overlooks the Riverfront Plaza, which runs along a 12-block stretch of scenic waterfront on the Savannah River, and is close to restaurants, shopping, and the old city.

The city of Savannah, established in 1733, is famous for its historic, architectural, and cultural delights. The city’s downtown is the largest National Historic Landmark in the United States and is well known as a stroller’s paradise, with tree-lined streets, cool fountains, and shady public squares. The compact, accessible city of 130,000 should provide an excellent setting for the Association’s flagship annual meeting.

The selection of Savannah returns the meeting to the east coast after the 2007 Annual Education Forum in Tucson, Arizona, in keeping with the Association’s policy of rotating meeting sites around the country as much as possible.
