PAEA May Meeting Activities Will Be ReducedNow that PAEA no longer operates under a formal management contract with the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA), the formal meeting — known as the PAEA Semiannual Meeting — that has historically been held in conjunction with the AAPA’s Annual PA Conference each May will no longer be held. This will leave PA faculty members free to attend clinical CME sessions and to participate in the House of Delegates and other AAPA activities. The Association will be able to devote all of its meeting planning efforts to the Annual PAEA Education Forum held each October. Educational sessions for PA faculty will continue to be presented. As in the past, the workshops, roundtables, panel discussions, and pearls geared to PA educators and those interested in becoming educators will be selected by the PAEA Education Committee and incorporated into the Academy’s meeting schedule. Additionally, a two-day add-on workshop, the Basic Clinical Coordinators Workshop, will be offered. This workshop is specifically designed for clinical coordinators with less than three years' experience. The PAEA Board of Directors will meet, but there will be no PAEA committee meetings or other public sessions. As always, conference registration and housing arrangements should be made through the AAPA. To register and for more information go to the AAPA Annual Conference Web site. If you have any questions about PAEA’s activities in conjunction with the AAPA Annual Conference, please contact PAEA Meetings Coordinator Jennifer Jarmin at (703) 548-5538, ext. 311; jjarmin@PAEAonline.org.
