AAPA Restructures Student MembershipsIn response to student and PA educator feedback, AAPA restructured student memberships in May 2006. PA students can now join AAPA for the entire time they are attending an accredited PA program for a one-time cost of $75. Membership expires approximately 30 days after a student’s graduation date, allowing for time to take and pass PANCE and make the transition into employment before needing to convert student membership to AAPA fellow status. This new structure eliminates the hassle of students’ needing to renew their membership each year and additionally offers them greater value for their money with this new one-time fee The sooner in their PA education that students join AAPA, the more benefit they will receive for their investment. AAPA student membership continues to offer future PAs the opportunity to enhance and complement their education with valuable resources and leadership opportunities. More information can found at http://www.aapa.org/membership.html.
