PAEA Basic Skills Faculty Development Workshop

Chicago
April 11-12, 2008

Registration and Payment Form

The PAEA Faculty Development Institute (FDI) is announcing the PAEA Basic Skills Faculty Development Workshop. The workshop will focus on didactic activities and the basic knowledge and skills needed for course and curriculum development. Past participants have been overwhelmingly positive in their evaluation of this workshop, which has been an FDI favorite since 1997. The following topics will be addressed:

  • Teaching and assessment strategies
  • Course development
  • Technology in teaching
  • Student issues and advising
  • Time management
  • Self-assessment and career planning in the academic environment

Participants will explore these issues through a variety of adult-centered, active learning techniques that can be readily adapted to the classroom or wider academic setting. The workshop is designed for junior PA faculty — those with less than two years’ experience in PA education and in positions, other than program or medical director.

Participants must commit to attending the workshop for the entire two days. The registration fee of $375 includes breakfast, lunch, and snacks for both days. The guest room rate at the Hilton Chicago O’Hare Airport is $149 per night, single occupancy. Attendees are responsible for making their own travel and hotel arrangements. Travel arrangements should not be made until confirmation of workshop registration is received.

To take part in the workshop, complete the attached registration form and return it to PAEA by Thursday, March 7. E-mail your materials to the attention of Jennifer Jarmin at jjarmin@PAEAonline.org; or fax them to (703) 548-5539.

Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Register early to secure your spot. Please call Jennifer at (703) 548-5538, ext. 311, with any questions.
