Preliminary Program

The Advanced Clinical Coordinators Workshop is intended for individuals who have either completed the Basic Clinical Coordinators Workshop or have been clinical coordinators for two or more years. Non-PA staff members assigned to clinical coordination in PA programs may also participate in this workshop. Faculty facilitators will be Sandy Hoops, University of Colorado at Denver and Health Sciences Center; Elizabeth Rothschild, Duke University Medical Center; and David Fahringer, University of Kentucky.

Topics will include:

• Defining the clinical coordinator role
• Dealing with the difficult student
• Issues of international clinical education
• Rules and regulation for clinical practice
• ARC-PA and clinical education
• Avoiding burnout

 

Participants must commit to attend the workshop for the entire two days. The registration fee of $375 includes continental breakfast and snacks for both days. The meeting will be held at the San Antonio Marriott Riverwalk on Friday, May 23, and Saturday, May 24, from 7:30 to 5:30 each day. Attendees are responsible for making their own travel and hotel arrangements. Hotel reservations can be made through the AAPA housing conference site: https://events.navigant.com/aapa/2008_paconference. Travel arrangements should not be made until confirmation of workshop registration is received.
