APAP Education Committee
— Call for Candidates

The Association invites applications for positions on the APAP Education Committee. The committee’s two major functions are to review submissions for proposals for meeting presentations and to moderate sessions during APAP’s Semiannual Meeting and Education Forum. This call in particular is for program directors. Applicants should be familiar with contemporary PA education and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to review proposals.

Requirements

Members must

  • Contribute to carrying out the committee’s standing charges and furthering its mission, which is to promote the education, professional development, and networking of PA program faculty during APAP’s annual meetings.
  • Participate in conference calls and face-to-face meetings. The committee works throughout the year and meets at the APAP Semiannual Meeting and Education Forum.
  • Meet agreed-upon deadlines for assignments.
  • Function well as team players.

Terms

  • Terms for all positions are for two years, from November 1, 2005, to October 31, 2007, with the possibility of reappointment.
  • Terms are renewable once, based upon recommendation of the committee chair to the APAP board of directors.

Funding

  • Meetings held in conjunction with the APAP Education Forum and Semiannual Meeting are not funded.
  • Expenses for travel, lodging, and meals are covered for meetings held outside of the APAP Education Forum and Semiannual Meeting.
