This information may be useful as you plan your trip to Puerto Rico.

Airport Shuttle Service
APAP has arranged shuttle service to and from the airport through a service called Global Tourism Alliance, Inc. (GTA), entirely separate from the service provided by El Conquistador Hotel. If you would prefer to use the GTA service and have already made travel reservations with the hotel, please contact El Conquistador to cancel your shuttle reservations. Be certain to let the hotel know that you are referring only to shuttle reservations.

The cost for GTA’s service is $45 per person, round-trip. If you would like to use this service, please use the attached transportation registration form, and fax or e-mail it directly to GTA. The form is also available on the APAP Web site at http://www.apap.org/meetings.html. You will need your flight arrival and departure times. Travel time to and from the airport is about 45 minutes. (GTA is also offering a sunset cruise — see information below. You can fax or e-mail both forms at the same time.)

Travel
Be sure to bring a photo ID. A passport is not necessary for travel to Puerto Rico. Please make sure to label your luggage and to hold on to your checked baggage ticket. Airline staff will check to make sure you have the correct luggage.

Weather

Puerto Rico’s average temperature in November ranges from a high of 86 to a low of 74. Average rainfall is 5.3 inches. Click here for more information: http://welcome.topuertorico.org/reference/tempera.shtml. If you need suntan lotion, try to bring your own. It is a bit more expensive at the resort.

Dress Code/Restaurants
The dress code at APAP meetings is business casual. It is a good idea to bring a light jacket or sweater as air-conditioned meeting rooms can often feel cold. Most of the El Conquistador’s many restaurants have a dress code of slacks and shirt. Shorts are not permitted in any of the restaurants. Although the restaurants do not require reservations, making them can be a good idea as the restaurants can get busy. For more information on the resort’s restaurants, go to http://www.wyndham.com/hotels/SJUEC/dining/main.wnt. Should you want to venture out of the resort for dinner, the concierge will be happy to give you some ideas.

Westin Rio Mar
For those of you staying at the Westin Rio Mar, there will be one shuttle run to the El Conquistador each day from Thursday, November 3, through Saturday, November 5. The shuttle pick up will be at the main entrances of the Westin and El Conquistador. This is a complimentary service provided by APAP. Any other shuttle service will have to be arranged and paid for individually. Shuttle times are listed below.
