Program Director Position

Pacific University, located in wine country twenty five miles west of Portland, Oregon, seeks a Director for its School of Physician Assistant Studies. The University is a comprehensive, independent University consistently highly ranked in U.S. News and World Report. The undergraduate College of Arts and Sciences and the graduate Colleges of Optometry, Education, and Health Professions comprise the University and serve over 1,200 undergraduate and 1,200 graduate students. The School of Physician Assistant Studies, housed in a satellite site off of the main campus, is a part of the College of Health Professions along with the Schools of Professional Psychology, Occupational Therapy, and Physical Therapy.

The Program Director, while assuming both faculty and administrative roles, provides administrative leadership for the School of Physician Assistant Studies and reports directly to the Dean of the College of Health Professions. The Program Director is responsible for leading the faculty in a collaborative endeavor related to all aspects of the academic program for the School, including but not limited to faculty recruitment and development, academic standards, curriculum, budget, research and scholarship, external relations and maintenance of accreditation. This is a full-time administrative position on a twelve-month contract.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Certified Physician Assistant eligible for state licensure in Oregon.
  2. 5 years preferred of full time demonstrated success in a physician assistant academic setting to include administration, management and teaching full time.
  3. Master’s Degree required.
  4. Excellent leadership skills with ability to motivate and direct faculty, staff and students utilizing collaboration, consensus building and effective interpersonal skills.
  5. Full time clinical practice for 2 years.

Academic Coordinator Position

The Bethel College Physician Assistant Program is now accepting applications for an Academic Director/Assistant Professor. This faculty member will work in collaboration with the Program Director, Medical Director, and academic faculty to insure quality instruction in the didactic phase of the Program. This is full-time, 12- month faculty position with competitive salary commensurate with qualifications.

Bethel College is located in rural West Tennessee. The Bethel College PA Program started in 2001 as a Masters’ level program. There is extensive use of technology in the Program with the incorporation of a wireless internet system and all students receiving a laptop. Candidate should be familiar with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. Microsoft FrontPage experience is a plus.

Current PA national certification and an earned master’s degree; a doctoral degree or the willingness to pursue one is preferred. The successful candidate will act as liaison between students and instructors and resource for both groups regarding curricular content, and academic policies and procedures. The candidate will plan, organize, implement, and evaluate the didactic phase of the program; provide service to the program and college including committee activities and student recruitment activities. In addition, at least three years of clinical experience and teaching experience in a PA program or in higher education are also preferred.

Faculty Position

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) School of Allied Health Sciences welcomes applications for a full-time (12 month appointment) faculty position.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, classroom and clinical curriculum delivery. Minimum requirements include a current, unrestricted license as a Physician Assistant by the Texas State Board of Physician Assistant Examiners or eligibility for licensure, a minimum of 3 years clinical experience as a Physician Assistant, a master's degree or higher in a related field and certification as a Physician Assistant by the NCCPA. Teaching experience in a PA program is desirable.

The TTUHSC PA Program is a 27-month, master-level curriculum and is accredited by the ARC-PA. The campus is located in Midland, Texas, in a state-of-the-art facility.

Faculty Position

The University of Southern California's Primary Care Physician Assistant Program is recruiting for a full-time faculty position in the Department of Family Medicine of the Keck School of Medicine of USC. The USC PA Program is a well-established, fully accredited, Master's level program. Responsibilities include student advising, admissions, curriculum development and evaluation, and teaching. Clinical practice time available in Family Medicine.

Minimum qualifications: master's degree in related field, graduation from an accredited PA Program, NCCPA certification, 2 years teaching experience, ability to work well in a team environment and strong communications skills

Faculty Positions

The Department of Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, Texas, seeks two (2) full-time, non-tenure track faculty. Positions open immediately. Certified physician assistant required; Master's degree preferred; prior teaching experience preferred.

Faculty will perform teaching, administrative, scholarly, clinical care, and community service activities. Major responsibilities will be to teach didactic and clinical courses to master's degree students as well as mentor and advise students on their master's projects. Additionally, one position will have clinical rotation coordinator responsibilities; the other will be responsible for department recruitment efforts and activities. Salary and academic rank commensurate with experience and qualifications. Interest and expertise in multi-cultural health care issues desirable.
