Program Director Position

The University of Wisconsin La Crosse - Gundersen Lutheran - Mayo PA Program is seeking a dynamic assistant/associate professor (tenure-track) or assistant/associate clinical professor (non-tenure-track), based on credentials, to lead a multi-faceted, collaborative PA faculty as program director. This is a 12-month position in an established program that enjoys a history of small class sizes and 100% PANCE pass rates with scores consistently in the top 10% nationally.

The Physician Assistant Master’s Degree Program consists of four core faculty members with instruction delivered or supplemented by local and regional experts from the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center and The Mayo Foundation. The PA program is part of the UW-L Department of Health Professions. All programs in the Department of Health Professions, College of Science and Allied Health (SAH), are fully accredited and also include:

  • Physical Therapy: currently awards a master’s-first professional degree and has been approved at the campus level to implement an entry-level DPT degree
  • Occupational Therapy: offering a master’s degree
  • Radiation Therapy: a bachelor’s degree
  • Medical Dosimetry: a certificate program

The Department of Health Professions is located in a $27 million, state-of-the-art Health Science Center (HSC), which also houses six associate health professional programs. The HSC was built by the La Crosse Medical Health Science Consortium, a collaborative entity of five La Crosse organizations: UW-L; Viterbo University; Western Wisconsin Technical College; Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center; and Franciscan Skemp Health Care-Mayo Health System. The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, founded in 1909, is one of 13 four-year campuses in the University of Wisconsin System. It offers approximately 80 majors, minors, and special programs for undergraduates in business, education, the sciences, the arts, health science, recreation, physical education, and liberal studies. Twenty-one graduate programs are available. About 9,300 students attend classes on the compact, 119-acre campus.

La Crosse (pop. 52,000) is set among scenic bluffs along the winding Mississippi River on the Minnesota/Wisconsin border. Located approximately 2½ hours from Minneapolis to the northwest and Madison, Wisconsin, to the southeast, La Crosse enjoys small-town charm with large-city benefits. Densely-wooded coulees (gorges between bluffs), three rivers, and lush marsh provide prime locales for running, skiing, hunting, fishing, skating, boating, camping, biking and other outdoor pursuits. In addition to UW-L, La Crosse is home to Viterbo University and Western Wisconsin Technical College.

Requirements:
