The Graduate-Level Faculty Members Toolbox: Skills for
Successful Teaching at the Graduate Level, to be held on Wednesday,
November 3, 2004, during the Education Forum in Nashville, Tennessee.
This is an add-on workshop, requiring separate registration in addition
to that for the Education Forum. (2) Participants will identify and discuss faculty development needs and specific aspects of graduate education, including research and types of graduate projects. Topics will also include mentoring graduate students and coordinating graduate projects. (3) Participants will identify and discuss critical skills, techniques, and scholarly activities to further their own academic careers, such as creating an academic portfolio, understanding promotion and tenure processes, and developing the personal research or scholarly activity agenda that is often an expectation for graduate-level faculty members. (4) Participants will gain an understanding of the different types of research activities commonly performed by PA faculty and how these might be utilized in student projects or in their own personal research. Please complete the attached registration form and return it by the
October 1, 2004 deadline. Early registration is encouraged. The cost
of this workshop is $275 (to be submitted ONLY upon notification of
acceptance). Registration fee includes a breakfast and a snack.
