Nominations and Awards
Committee Seeks One Member

The APAP Nominations and Awards Committee is seeking one new member. The committee meets at the Semiannual Meeting in May or June and by conference calls, as needed, during the year. It is most active between meetings during the spring into summer. Members should have the flexibility to participate regularly in conference calls and e-mail exchanges.

Responsibilities:

The committee’s major function is to identify and solicit qualified candidates to serve on the APAP Board of Directors. It also selects award recipients based on established criteria. To carry out these charges, the committee

  1. Reexamines the bylaws and procedures to identify barriers to entry of qualified candidates and any ambiguities that might exist in current policies
  2. Assesses current awards
  3. Makes recommendations to the board, as appropriate, for new awards or recognition that may desirable for the organization
  4. Considers other issues important to the nominations and awards procedures

Requirements:

  • Five years’ experience as a faculty member in an APAP member program
  • Two years’ experience as a member of the board of directors or on an APAP committee, task force, or workgroup
