The Research Institute is announcing a second, limited call for submissions of posters and papers/abstracts for presentation at the 2005 Education Forum, November 2–6, in Puerto Rico. This is the last year that posters and papers/abstracts will have a later submission deadline than workshops.

The following topics will be considered:

  • Any aspect of physician assistant education
  • The professional role of the PA
  • The delivery of health care in connection with physician assistants
  • Health care issues
  • General interest or topics of practical use to the PA profession

Original work pertaining to this call can be presented in either of these formats:

1. As a 10-minute presentation; or
2. As a poster display. Poster displays accepted for this meeting will also be invited for display at the AAPA Annual Conference in May 2006.

Empirical studies reporting original research, review articles evaluating material previously published, and theoretical or speculative articles to advance theory on education or the profession are all acceptable for submission. Additionally, brief reports and discussions of quantitative research methods may be submitted.

The time allowed for paper presentations will be 10 minutes, with five additional minutes for questions and discussion. The deadline for submission of proposals for papers and posters is August 30, 2005. Please submit all proposals at http://www.formsite.com/aapa/papers/index.html. Questions may be addressed to Research Institute Chair Richard Dehn, richard-dehn@uiowa.edu, or 319/335-8925.
