Committee on Ethnic and Cultural Diversity
Seeks Two Members

The Committee on Ethnic and Cultural Diversity (CECD) is seeking two members. The mission of the committee is to promote the recruitment and retention of ethnically and culturally diverse faculty and students; to advocate for the underrepresented and/or economically disadvantaged; and to serve as mentors and role models in education, the profession, and the community.

The CECD evaluates CASPA data for its utility in achieving committee goals; identifies specific areas in PA education that lack appropriate awareness of diversity; develops educational offerings to highlight strategies for increasing enrollment, retention, and graduation of underrepresented minority and disadvantaged students; and studies the challenges to PA programs associated with increasing underrepresented minority/disadvantaged enrollment.

Applicants should have previous experience with ethnic and cultural issues in PA education and be interested in advancing the committee’s mission.

Please send a current CV by e-mail to Geraldene Darden, gdarden@apap.org, as well as a letter describing your experience, interest in and qualifications for the position by September 15, 2005. If you do not receive a confirmation of your application within a few business days, please contact Ms. Darden at 703/836-2272, ext. 3413, to be certain that your application has been received.
