GENERAL JACKSON SHOWBOAT TOUR
Saturday, November 6, 2004 6:30-10:45 p.m.

The General Jackson combines the sights and sounds of a river excursion with sensational on-board entertainment and sumptuous food in a thoroughly congenial and relaxing atmosphere. Refreshments abound and there is something to suit every individual taste. Choose the sophistication of an elegant cocktail lounge or the romantic informality of the open-air lounges. It is a truly distinctive prelude to that eagerly anticipated moment when dinner is announced. Enjoy a three-course dinner in the majestic, two-story high Victorian Theater while you cruise down the Cumberland River.

After dinner, sit back and be entertained by five of the best singers Nashville has to offer. Along with a multi-talented seven-piece band, they will perform a new Broadway-style show created especially for the General Jackson entitled "Sing!" This show includes a compilation of show tunes plus a variety of pop, country, and a little bit of rock and roll. After the show there will be some time to stroll the outer decks before departing for the hotel.

Cost: $98.00 per person, based on a required minimum of 25 people. Tour registrations are on the conference registration form and must be made by September 27, 2004.

MUSIC CITY SWING TOUR
Friday, November 5, 2004 3:00-6:00 p.m.

The tour begins with a short drive down West End Avenue into Centennial Park, home of the Parthenon. Built for Nashville’s Centennial Celebration in 1897, this is the only full-scale replica of the original Parthenon in Athens, Greece. Behind the largest bronze doors in the world is the awe-inspiring 42-foot sculpture of the Greek goddess Athena, the tallest indoor sculpture in the western world. Further inside the Parthenon is an impressive art museum containing permanent and traveling art exhibits, as well as castings of the famous Elgin Marbles from the British Museum.

The tour will continue with a journey down world-famous Music Row. Record labels, publishing houses, and booking agencies are located here on the "row." Also included on this tour is a driving tour of downtown Nashville including such famous points of interest such as the historic Ryman Auditorium, former home of the Grand Ole Opry and the Hermitage Hotel, home to the women’s suffragette movement and legendary pool shark Minnesota Fats.

Another stop will take you to the Bicentennial Mall, opened in 1996 in honor of the state’s 200th birthday! The 19-acre park gives visitors a taste of Tennessee’s history and natural wonders and includes such highlights as the "World War II Memorial" featuring an 18,000 pound granite globe floating on 1/8 inch of water and "The Carillons" which consist of 95 bells saluting Tennessee’s musical heritage. Don’t miss the "Tennessee Map Plaza," a 200-foot granite map highlighting the major roads, rivers and geographic formations of each of the 95 counties; the "Rivers of Tennessee Fountains," 31 vertical water fountains, one for each prominent Tennessee waterway; and the "Walkway of the Counties," a walkway containing a time capsule from each of the state’s 95 counties.

Cost: $28.00 per person, based on a required minimum of 25 people. Tour registrations are on the conference registration form and must be made by September 27, 2004.
