Staff Member Rejoins APAP

APAP has acquired a new staff member; or more accurately, reacquired an old one. Steven Lane, who managed member communications for the Association from 1996 to 2001, has rejoined the APAP staff as director of communications and information services.

His responsibilities will include serving as managing editor of Perspective on Physician Assistant Education, APAP’s official journal that was recently moved in-house from the University of Utah program; and overseeing APAP’s external communications and data management activities.

Steven left APAP in 2001 to take a position with the American Academy of Physician Assistants as managing editor of AAPA News. In 2003 he left AAPA to spend a year as a stay-at-home father, then worked briefly for the Society of Interventional Radiology. He rejoined the APAP staff in May.

Steven’s hiring brings the number of APAP staff to six. He joins Timi Agar Barwick, executive director; Geraldene Darden, assistant director, marketing and member communications; Al Baggett, assistant director, education; Eileen Evans, administrator; and Paxton Styles, coordinator.
