Program Director Position

Saint Francis University, a Catholic liberal arts university located in central Pennsylvania, seeks a full-time Program Director/Department Chair for its Department of Physician Assistant Sciences. The Department includes both the entry-level Master of Physician Assistant Science Program and the post-graduate Master of Medical Science. Qualifications:
1. Certified physician assistant eligible for state licensure in PA or an allopathic or osteopathic physician with current licensure and board certification.

Academic/Clinical Coordinator Position

Jefferson College of Health Sciences PA Program has an opening for an Academic Clinical Education Coordinator.

Full-time - Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Must possess skills to plan, initiate, develop, and coordinate academic portion of clinical education for the program. Ensures that program students receive adequate medical and technical instruction, exposure, and experience. Participates in periodic review of effectiveness of the education program as per the accrediting body. Recruits and develops clinical affiliation sites as needed and appropriate. Will ensure that clinical learning environment demonstrates characteristics needed to provide effective clinical education in accordance with accreditation standards.

Two years clinical experience and teaching experience required. Experience as an instructor or coordinator within the clinical component of an allied health program is preferred. Master's degree in PA or other health related field required; doctorate preferred. Must possess strong oral and written communication skills. Must possess excellent understanding of educational principles and methodologies. Must be willing to travel occasionally.

Clinical Coordinator Position

Grand Valley State University PA Studies Program has an opening for an Assistant Professor/Clinical Coordinator.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an ARC-PA or CAAHEP accredited PA Program
  • Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies
  • Possess (or be eligible for) a Michigan license practice as a

Clinical Coordinator Position

Our Lady of the Lake College, Department of Physician Assistant Studies has an opening for a Clinical Coordinator.

Rank: Open rank (based on qualifications)
Starting date: August 1, 2005
Appointment: 12-month

Required Qualifications: PA with current NCCPA certification and master's degree. The candidate must have at least two years of clinical experience and must be willing to travel. Proven written and verbal skills and computer competency are required.

Preferred Qualifications: Doctoral degree (required for appointment above Assistant Professor rank).

Duties: An applicant must be prepared to teach graduate courses in the PA program. She/he will be responsible for clinical coordination and procuring, developing and monitoring clinical sites. A major duty will be advising and evaluating the clinical performance of PA students. Teaching, scholarship, service, admissions, and recruitment responsibilities are expected of all program faculty members.

Faculty Position

Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) is expanding its faculty in the Master of Physician Assistant (MPA) Program. This program is 27 months in length and enrolls 50 students per year. The ideal candidate has a demonstrated track record in physician assistant education, clinical practice, research and related scholarly activities, and a commitment to continued professional development. Qualifications:
Current NCCPA certification, Masters Degree in a related field (Doctorate preferred), five or more years in clinical practice, three or more years in Physician Assistant education, and current eligibility for Virginia licensure.

Faculty Position

Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences is currently accepting applications for a faculty position in the Department of PA Studies. This is a full time, 12-month appointment. MCPHS offers leading edge educational programs that prepare students to succeed in contemporary health practice and related professions. MCPHS is located in the heart of Boston's Longwood medical and academic area and is a member of the Colleges of the Fenway consortium.

In consultation with the PAS Program Director and the PAS Academic Coordinator, faculty teach across all courses and coordinate didactic courses in the of the PAS curriculum. Responsibilities will include engaging in teaching, scholarship and service activities; participating in the development, implementation and evaluation of a six-year entry-level curriculum for physician assistant education; participating in the development, initiation and incorporation of instructional experiences; developing individualized learning objectives; recruiting qualified applicants; providing supervision and counsel to students; preparing and implementing grants and contracts; developing competencies required for the successful completion of board examinations; serving a small-group facilitator; other duties as requested.

The successful candidate will have current PA National Certification; eligibility for MA state licensure; a minimum of three years clinical experience; Master's Degree preferred; higher education experience preferred; strong communication, time management and organizational skills; demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team of highly motivated and experienced individuals; honesty; integrity and commitment to maintaining high professional standards.

Our Lady of the Lake College, Department of Physician Assistant Studies has an opening for a Research Director/Applied Physiologist.

Required Qualifications: Applicant must hold an earned doctoral degree in applied physiology or a related field and have a clear potential for future scholarly leadership.

Preferred Qualifications: Physician Assistant (PA) with current NCCPA certification and a minimum of two years clinical experience.

Duties: The primary appointment is in the Department of Physician Assistant Studies. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing PA student research proposals and other graduate student thesis research. The position requires the candidate to be active in ongoing PA program development, evaluation, student advisement; and college, school and professional service. The primary instructional responsibilities will be teaching physiology content to physician assistant students and a graduate research course. It is expected that the applicant will develop lines of scholarly inquiry in aging and chronic disease disability, and contribute to instructional and service missions. Examples of relevant areas of scholarship include, but are not limited to: prevention of disability, slowing of aging processes, and clinical therapeutic interventions, such as exercise, designed to overcome disabilities.

Primary responsibilities will include supervision and teaching of students during the pre-clinical and clinical phase of the program.
