has an opening for a Research Director/Applied Physiologist. Rank: Open rank (based on qualifications) Preferred Qualifications: Physician Assistant (PA) with current NCCPA certification and a minimum of two years clinical experience. Duties: The primary appointment is in the Department of Physician Assistant Studies. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing PA student research proposals and other graduate student thesis research. The position requires the candidate to be active in ongoing PA program development, evaluation, student advisement; and college, school and professional service. The primary instructional responsibilities will be teaching physiology content to physician assistant students and a graduate research course. It is expected that the applicant will develop lines of scholarly inquiry in aging and chronic disease disability, and contribute to instructional and service missions. Examples of relevant areas of scholarship include, but are not limited to: prevention of disability, slowing of aging processes, and clinical therapeutic interventions, such as exercise, designed to overcome disabilities.
