Invitation to Managing Self, Managing Others Workshop By Sherry Stolberg, MGPGP, PA-C APAP, through the Faculty Development Institute (FDI), is once again pleased to offer the Managing Self, Managing Others, on May 3031, 2004, as an add-on workshop two days before the official opening of the APAP Semiannual Meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada. Dawn Morton-Rias and I facilitated this workshop when it was hosted by the Arcadia University PA Program in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Overview: Program directors and other PA faculty frequently identify managing faculty, staff, preceptors, and students as a particularly challenging part of their jobs. The people in our professional lives provide joy and satisfaction, but may also become the source of frustration, worry, and sleepless nights. This intensive, two-day workshop will focus on developing and refining the skills needed for successful management of the self and others in the PA educational setting. I will facilitate this workshop with Karen Mulitalo, academic coordinator at the University of Texas Southwestern PA Program. Learning strategies will include lecture/presentations, discussion, exercises for skills building, self-reflection, and opportunities to network with peers. Sample Topics
Early registration is encouraged; limited seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Participation is limited to one participant per program with a maximum of 20 participants. Although all faculty are encouraged to register, this workshop is intended for program directors, associate directors, and PA faculty with management responsibilities.
