PAEA Faculty Development Institute Advisory Committee — Call for Candidates

The Association invites applications to fill a position on the PAEA Faculty Development Institute (FDI) Advisory Committee. The FDI is the national clearinghouse for APAP faculty development resources.

Advisory committee applicants should have strong communication and interpersonal skills and previous experience in faculty development activities. The advisory committee is made up of individuals who have a wide range of experience in faculty positions. The current opening is for a senior PA faculty member with five to seven years of experience in PA education and demonstrated interest in faculty development.

Requirements

Members must

  • Contribute to carrying out the institute’s standing charges and furthering its mission, which is to promote the professional development of PA program faculty and staff through activities that enrich faculty knowledge and skills in the areas of teaching, management, leadership, education, and health policy.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled conference calls and meetings at PAEA’s Semiannual Meeting and Education Forum.
  • Meet agreed-upon deadlines for assignments.
  • Function well as team players.

Terms

  • Terms for all positions are for two years, from November 1, 2005, to October 31, 2007, with the possibility of reappointment.
  • Terms are renewable once, based upon recommendation of the institute chair to the PAEA Board of Directors.

Funding

  • Meetings held in conjunction with the PAEA Education Forum and Semiannual Meeting are not funded.
  • Expenses for travel, lodging, and meals are covered for meetings held outside of the APAP Education Forum and Semiannual Meeting.
