PAEA Basic Skills Faculty Development Workshop

March 2006
Denver, Colorado

PAEA, through its Faculty Development Institute (FDI), will once again offer the Basic Skills Faculty Development Workshop in Denver, Colorado, in early March. When details become available, faculty will be updated by e-mail.

Past participants have been overwhelmingly positive in their evaluation of this workshop, which will focus on didactic skills and provide the basic knowledge and skills necessary for course and curriculum development. Other areas that will be addressed are the use of various teaching and assessment strategies, technology in teaching, student counseling and advising, time management, and self-assessment and career planning in the academic environment. The workshop will offer an opportunity to explore these issues through an experiential process that includes a variety of adult-centered, active learning techniques that can be readily adapted to the classroom or wider academic setting.

Once details become available, faculty are encouraged to register early. Participants will be limited to 25 and should be the most junior of PA faculty with less than two years’ experience in roles other than program or medical director. Participants must also make a commitment to attend the workshop for the entire two days.

Please reserve the early days in March on your calendar and anticipate receiving further details by e-mail.
