PAEA Research Institute
Invites Applications for Opening on Advisory Committee

PAEA Research Institute (RI) is seeking applications for a vacancy on its advisory committee. The committee is responsible for advising the RI chair and PAEA Board of Directors concerning research issues, and individual members are responsible for implementing various tasks of the RI and for chairing at least one RI subcommittee. Additional responsibilities include attending the RI Advisory Committee meetings at the PAEA Education Forum and Semiannual Meeting and possibly one weekend strategy meeting each winter, as well as participating in e-mail and telephone meetings, as needed.

Requirements for this position include past service on a Research Institute subcommittee. It is desirable that applicants’ accomplishments include experience in the activities typically conducted by the RI, such as successful authorship of published manuscripts, service as a peer reviewer for journals and the PAEA Student Writing Competition, experience working with PA students in scholarly endeavors, success in authoring grant proposals and obtaining grant funding, service on a grant review committee, and a history of scholarly research activity.

Terms

  • Terms for all positions are for two years, from November 1, 2005, to October 31, 2007, with the possibility of reappointment.
  • All terms are renewable once, based upon recommendation of the PAEA president in consultation with the board of directors and institute chair.

Funding

  • Meetings held in conjunction with the PAEA Education Forum and Semiannual Meeting are not funded.
  • Meetings held outside of the PAEA Education Forum and Semiannual Meeting are funded for travel, lodging, and meals.
